You don’t need to register to visit Denbighshire Archives and use the open plan Reference Room (it is just like a public library), but if you want to look at archival documents or use a microfilm reader or PC you need to register as a Reader. Once registered you can book a seat to view original documents in our Reading Room.
It only takes a few minutes to register and we promise that we will never sell or share your details with any other organisation. Your details are looked after by Denbighshire County Council.
You can either pre-register online or register when you arrive at Denbighshire Archives.
You can pre-register for a Reader Card online.
- Click on ‘Register’ on the bottom left of any webpage on the website or click here and complete the online registration form.
- Once you have completed the online form, you will be sent an email asking you to click on a link to confirm your registration.
- You will be directed to a webpage to create your password.
You can then search for documents in our catalogues.
You will need to complete your registration at Denbighshire Archives reception desk when you first visit.
You will need to bring two pieces of ID, a current photo ID, such as your passport or driving license and one showing proof of address, such as a bank statement or utility bill.
We will then ask you to have your photo taken for your new Reader Card. This gives you access to our searchroom where you can see your ordered documents.
